Every issue of Oasis begins the same way: with a question. Not what do we want to show, but why it matters, and to whom. This time, the answer kept returning to a single truth: everything is a story. Fashion is a story. Architecture is a story. A menu, a room, a face caught in good light, each one asking to be limned, not explained.

Maybe it's starting the fourth season of Bridgerton or maybe it's because we are doing a spring cleaning early or maybe it's because I carry the words and ideas of my grandmother with me every day and everywhere I go, but today I found her sterling silver and ivory paged Dance card. Their names erased, but the three names that remain are, Jessie, Lou and Fanny. She would've started her Society presentation around 1906 when she was 16. Her name is Etta C Mitchell. ❤️
